Tom Lesinski, President of Paramount Digital Entertainment, noted that “most teaser trailers feature zero gameplay”, but the one the company rolled out at E3 does indeed feature all in-game action, even though it’s labelled as in a pre-alpha state. Digital Extremes of Bioshock 2 and Unreal Tournament fame is developing the game. The story is being penned by God of War writer Marianne Krawczyk and the writers on the 2009 Star Trek, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Kirk and Spock will tackle the alien menace co-operatively. Simply called Star Trek, it will follow on from the story of JJ Abrams’ 2009 Star Trek film, with Kirk and Spock attempting to stop an enemy race who wish to conquer the galaxy.
Paramount has unveiled a Star Trek game at E3 due for release next year.
